Springwoods Village Dental has invested in the best dental technologies available to ensure your dental procedures are high quality and less stressful. A few of our technologies include Extraoral Radiographs (ultra-low dose radiation), DEXIS CariVu ™, 2D and 3D Radiographs, CAD/CAM same day crowns, Silver Diamine Fluoride, Dental Operating Microscope, Intraoral cameras, Guided Dental Implants, Smile Design, and 3D Printer.

Extraoral Radiographs (ultra-low dose radiation)

For patients with severe gag reflex, pediatric patients, and patients with restricted mouth opening.

Extraoral X-rays are made with the film outside the mouth. This type of x-ray is an excellent way to obtain radiographs for patients with severe gag reflex, pediatric patients, and patients with restricted mouth opening. Extraoral X-rays will also provide information about the jaw and skull.

Extraoral radiographs are used to:
  • Examine impacted teeth
  • Examine facial bones
  • Maintain historical information regarding growth and development
  • Examine the relationships between teeth and jaws

Caries (cavity) Detection Device

DEXIS CariVu™ is a compact, portable caries (tooth decay) detection device that uses patented transillumination technology to support the identification of occlusal, interproximal and recurrent carious lesions and cracks.
By hugging the tooth and bathing it in safe, near-infrared light, CariVu’s transillumination technology makes the enamel appear transparent while porous lesions trap and absorb the light. This unique caries detector allows the clinician to see through the tooth exposing its structure and the actual structure of any carious lesions with 99% accuracy.

See for yourself at Springwoods Village Dental with our CariVu technology. Now included at no extra charge with your Exam, Cleaning, and X-Rays.

2D and 3D Radiographs

Springwoods Village Dental offers both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional radiographs (x-rays).

These can be taken without having to have the painful sensors placed inside your mouth.
This is perfect for people who gag or simply do not like the feeling of having the sensor inside the mouth.

CAD/CAM same day crowns

One visit! No temporary crown!

Traditional crowns require two appointments with the hassle of a temporary crown for a few weeks while the lab creates a crown. Remove that hassle with same day porcelain crowns! Same day crowns are convenient, esthetic and lost lasting solutions for teeth that need a crown.

Springwoods Village Dental owns our own in-house CAD/CAM system which allows our patients to have a completed permanent crown in just one office visit. This system requires that a natural tooth-colored porcelain crown is chosen by the patient. Other types of crowns are available, but will require two office visits, a temporary crown, and lab processing time.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

Silver diammine fluoride is a topical medicament used to treat and prevent dental caries and relieve dentinal hypersensitivity.
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a product dentists use to treat dental caries. SDF application is around 80% effective but teeth with “holes” still need to have a filling. It is a great treatment tool for pediatric dentistry.
